Gorgeous 1950s Novelty Print Cotton Circle Skirt with Birdcage Motif

  • Product Description

Vintage 1950s skirt is crisp, fresh and feels like spring! This homemade dress is a full circle made of four quarters of novelty printed fabric. Pale gold birdcages are surrounded by pink, blue and olive green flowers. It is lined with a fuchsia tulle net, and has plenty of room for a larger crinoline underneath. Bound to be a favorite! This seems to have original had a zipper, but was coverted to hooks at some time in the past.

      Waist: 24"
      Hips: 60"
      Length: 31"

      Label: None Present
      Material: Cotton
      Condition: Good, as is

This skirt has been worn and washed, but remains sturdy and crisp. The birdcage in the print seems lightly faded, and I wonder if it used to have a metallic finish. The original zipper was removed in the past, and then hand stitched with hook and eye instead. I find no other issues to note!
