Gorgeous 1950s Crystal Pleated Silver Lamé Skirt Set with Blouse and Belt
Killer, rare, lustrous and bombshell, this vintage 1950s set is as metallic as it is possible to be. While I've seen similar sets in gold a number of times, I have never before seen silver and think it's likely quite uncommon. The blouse is darted, a crisp style with notched collar and smart cuffs. The buttons are self-fabric. The full skirt is composed of three layers - the exterior sparkling crystal pleating, a liner of acetate in a taupe color, and between then, crisp tulle. And there's still room for a crinoline, as shown. The skirt closes with a metal side zipper and hooks. Best of all, maybe, the set still has the original self-fabric belt, which closes with a rhinestone studded buckle.
Waist: Hooks are currently set at 23.25, the absolute max, but were originally 22"
Belt fits 22"-24"
Label: "That Wilroy Look" Marked a vintage size 10 (very small)
Material: Lamé Fabric
Condition: Very Good minus
This set is freshly laundered and ready to wear. There is a single u-shaped water spot by the right front hem. I haven't attempted to clean it, as the quantity and brightness of the skirt helps disguise it and lamé makes me nervous. The hooks on the skirt have been moved a few times. There is a pink mark on the top button of the blouse. This set presents gloriously and I find no other issues to note.
