Vintage 1950s dress is such a brilliant use of the plaid print. This cute frock is made of a crisp, heavy cotton. The fabric is smartly used running horizontally on the pleated skirt, but in bias cut segments on the bodice, which causes the lines to curve slightly with the fit. The skirt is full, but not massive, it has just enough room for a light crinoline. The bodice has decorative rhinestone studded buttons, and the dress closes with a sturdy metal zipper. I believe the tiny cap sleeves are additions, although I had no idea where the fabric could have been taken from.

This dress is crisp, fresh and ready to wear. As noted the cap sleeves are either additions or an alteration of the original sleeve. There's six spots on the front of the skirt, all lightened by a wash, and all conveniently in the speckled grey segments so they don't stand out- you need to look for them. This dress is sturdy and bright, and wears beautifully!
