Gorgeous 1940s Sheer Pink Summer Dress with Beaded Details and Hip Sash

  • Product Description

Vintage 1940s gown in a pretty pink rayon chiffon, incredible sheer, floating and ethereal. The shoulders are lightly padded and have a row of shirring to create drape. The sleeves are elegantly constructed with very heavy, tight shirring along the top, so they hang shorter on the outside of the arm, and drape longer to the underside of the arm. The neckline is a keyhole style with a hidden hook. The dress is beaded throughout the bodice and upper skirt, in a motif of flowers with falling heart-shaped petals. A self-fabric waistband has a tiered sash-drape at the left hip. The dress closes with a sturdy metal zipper.  Tight shirring under this creates drape through the skirt. This gorgeous gown closes with a side metal zipper.

      Shoulder: 16.75"
      Bust: 43"
      Waist 33"
      Length: 54"

Label: None Present except original owner's name stitched into the collar
      Material: Rayon Crepe
Condition: Good, as is with small flaws

This gown is clean and ready to wear. A preciously owner gathered the sides of the neckline with green thread, with very, very slightly color transferred. I removed the stitches, and there's tiny little mars to the fabric at that point. There is a pinhole at the left side of the neckline under a beaded petal. The skirt has three small holes, each a bit bigger than a pin head, but easily lost in the drape. One at the back left hip, one at the far right side about thigh height, and one a few inches above the hem on the right. I find no other issues to note! It has been priced with flaws in mind.
