Vintage 1940s sunhat is one of the best I've ever owned. I actually bought this for a previous year's lookbook, but wanted to wear it a couple times before I had to sell. The crown has the 1938-42 that it's on the cover of dozens of hollywood magazines and featured in numerous Vogue images - but it's slightly different blocked in six distinct tiers for a ribbed effect. The straw is painted a seafoam green, and has nautical motifs, including a lobster/crawfish, ships and sail boats. It has a twisted great and white cord to tie under the chin.
The size of this piece will cause it to be more costly to ship overseas or areas on the east coast. I will refund any shipping overcharge.

This hat is ready to wear. It is delicate, and so best for wear for photoshoots, poolside at Viva, or carefully on a day out - it's not a knockaround beach hat anymore. There is one 3/4" slip on an edge, and one 2" clean split inside the brim, as well as some surface chips. The ends of the ties are pretty frayed and have an old break tied together, but fit easily under the chin and are solid enough to wear. This hat is a BEAUTY and I truly adore it.
