RESERVED ON LAYAWAY Gorgeous 1940s DuBarry Evening Gown in Bold Fuchsia Rayon Crepe with Pleated Back Drape and Bias Cut Skirt
Vintage evening gown of the most vibrant, saturated fuchsia hue. This color was practically impossible to capture, and it can look more pink or more purple depending on the light you are in. This gown is a bold piece of evening fashion DuBarry, forever one of the best names in ready to wear evening gowns. The front of the gown is elegantly simple - a high v neckline, draped sleeves. I realized after the shoot that this desperately needed shoulder pads, and have added them. The action of this gown is all at the back - ten tuck style pleats along the center back seam create a sort of bustle look, covered over with a trained drape. There is a center back vent to the skirt, which hangs in a columnar fashion despite the bias cut, flared gores - it is a clever styling. Elegant, dramatic and saturated, this rare beauty will put every eye on you. The dress closes with metal side zipper and two buttons at the back of the neck.
*Please forgive the wrinkles. We moved so quickly to photograph items before our move that some pieces didn't get steamed to my satisfaction! My apologies.
Material: Rayon Crepe
Condition: Good plus
This garment is clean and ready to wear. There are mild rings at each underarm, but the vibrant color helps disguise this. There are three pinholes in the skirt- at the right front hip, the mid left front, and the lower left back - these don't stand out in anyway, but have been taken into consideration. There are two faint spots which are hidden by the long back drape. I find no other issues to note!
