Gorgeous 1940s Cotton and Rayon Blend Floral Zip Front Dressing Gown

  • Product Description

This lovely homemade 1940s dressing gown is one of the curvy garments from our lookbook this year.  It is a heavy, drapey matte rayon in cornflower blue, with a print of brilliant pops of purple and shocking pink, green and yellow. The collar is wide, with an upwards curve. The matching self-fabric sashes are attached high, at the base of the ribs, which means this is cozy for sitting down. It closes up the center front with a sturdy metal zipper.

      Shoulders: 15.5"
      Bust: 43.5"
      Waist: 36"
      Hips: 56"
Length: 55" + 4" at hem (has been taken up)

      Label: None Present
      Material: Rayon-Cotton Blend
      Condition: Good, wearable as is

This garment is clean and ready to wear.  There is a little strain at the base of the self-fabric ties. There's a 1/3" by 1/3" frayed hole by the back right side seam that has been patched with fabric from the edge of the wide hem. I have interfaced six other small frays - one under the bust at the left, one at the right sleeve, one at the back of the left shoulder, on at the mid back and two on the left sleeve. There is some mild piling, likely from being machine washed. It is entirely wearable, and priced with condition in mind.
