  • Product Description

A striking Edwardian lawn dress, a c. 1910-11 creation of varied laces and textures, using pintucks, eyelet embroidery and scalloped details to create a piece bursting with texture. The sleeves are half-length, the waist fitted, skirt is cut close to the hip and slightly flared. This classic summer gown closes with buttons at the back.

The color is neither as bright white as the modeled images, or as ivory as the mannequin images. It is a fresh, natural white hue.

      Condition: Good, as is

This dress has been very gently hand washed and is clean and ready to wear. It has almost certainly been taken up to it's current length in the past. The most notable flaw is that he lace used at the shoulders and on the sleeves has fraying all along the edges. I could have trimmed the frayed bits, but prefer to price it lower and leave that to the buyer. A small repair has been made in the past on the left sleeve at the edge of the lace.

The right sleeve has a cluster of rust spots on one side, and a cluster of tiny holes from rust ( I think) on the back side. There are two tiny spots on the waist, two in the front of the skirt (both small) and a little pinhole below the waist. I find no other issues to note. This piece is imperfect but sturdy, and wears beautifully
