Well, hello 1970s, we meet again. While it's not typically an era I keep in stock, I occasionally can't resist an incredibly cute piece. It's just like one I once had in my own collection. This cotton halter isa perfect blend of 1930s deco lines and 1950s inspired cut. The sturdy cotton features a nautical colorway way in navy, bright blue, red and chartreuse. The bodice offers a knot tie between the bust, with a saucy cutout below. A fitted waist and sweeping A line skirt add the perfect finishing touch. This dress closes with a nylon zipper up the back.
Length: 36" from top of bust to hem
Label: vintage size tag is present (does not seem to be the Plain Jane version, which is a different weave of cotton)
Condition: Good minus. Sturdy and wearable but as is
This dress is adorable and wears well, looking good from any distance, but up close, you'll find two different kinds of face. The first is sun fade, on the side of the skirt and the halter straps. You can see this pretty clearly in the first image. Then, throughout, mostly in the skirt, there's a sort of uneven, periodic fade, maybe from a cleanser? It didn't turn up until I had hand washed it, but nothing I washed it with could have done it - this sort of looks like smudges of sunblock or deodorant. There is also a smudge on the right bust, and a spot on the skirt.
I'm pricing the dress for half of what I'd intended for it. I still think it's perfectly functional and cute for casual summer days or a beach holiday, but review the close ups to ensure you'll be happy with a less than perfect dress.
