Fantastic 1940s Two Piece Dress Suit Ensemble of Cold Rayon Polka Dots and Solid Brown Rayon Crepe

  • Product Description

Vintage 1940s dress set in a darling colorblock contrast of solid rayon crepe and cold rayon polka dots. The surplice top features panels of plain brown rayon down the front, finished with dart tucked shoulders and edged with forest green rayon trim. There are small headers in the sleeves. I simply adore the classic nature of this set, it comes from my personal collection and is a very hard thing to part with! The swishy skirt has long darts that open to pleats, and is flirty as can be, and closes with a series of hooks on the side.

There's one other speck of the white, on a white polka dot. The dots on the top aren't quite as bright as the dots on the skirt, I think from mild color transfer during a previous hand wash. On the skirt, one dart has two inches of stitching that is replaced by hand. There is a pinhole in the skirt, and one small stain at the lower left hem. This wears
