Fantastic 1940s Green Gabardine Suit with Belted, Caped Jacket and Button Accents

  • Product Description

Vintage postwar suit is heartbreaker. The jacket is one of my favorite styles - a piece that belts half internally, half externally to be a fitted jacket at front and a perfect caped fit at the back. This suit is a fantastic medium shade of green - a very 40s hue, and beautifully detailed with extensive top stitching and self-fabric button accents. The jacket has no closures aside from the belt, which has a bold brass buckle. The hip pockets are working, although not terribly deep. The pockets and jacket are lined in slippery rayon blend satin. The skirt is long - a post war length, with sleekly flattering fit. The skirt closes with a metal side zipper.

This suit has been dry cleaned and is ready to be worn! There is a row of three small moth chews I've patched right on the waist at the right front - these are exactly on the level of the belt, and so when worn closed they would never be seen. The back of the skirt has two small spots. The lining has some fade. I find no other issues to note, this wears beautifully.
