Fantastic 1940s Colorblock Dress Set with Soutache Accents and Cropped Jacket
I am very happy to offer up this styling vintage postwar 1940s dress and matching jacket set! This chic set is made of rayon crepe. The bodice of the dress and facing of the jacket labels is a rosey hue, that quintessential 40s pink. The balance is a heathered raspberry color that I find hard to resist. The jacket alone will be a versatile separate in your wardrobe, as it will pair neatly with other 40s pink frocks. It is open with no closures. The dress has a tiered skirt with notched accents. This has the original self-fabric belt, and closes with a side zipper and neck zipper both.
Label: Polly Brief
Condition: Dress, Good, as is. Jacket, Good minus.
This set is freshly dry cleaned and ready to be worn. This actually wears really well and is very sturdy, but has some flaws I can't fix. Notably, there is a series of frayed snags at the upper left shoulder of the jacket I imagine caused from being worn regularly with a heavy brooch or corsage. Someone prior to me put in stabilizing stitches on the lower end of this flaw. There is a subtle spot on the dress the size of a garage sale sticker, and though I cleaned away the residue the dress is lightly tanned there. There are a couple other very faint spots on the bodice. The second tier of the skirt has some minor water spotting.
This dress looks better than it sounds, but I do think these flaws are probably not reversible.
