Vintage 1950s swimsuit is a style that definitely borrows from Rose Marie Reid's perfect designs. Roxanne started making their "Perfection Fit" suits in 1955 (funny how they look just like a "draped sheath" isn't it?). This example is likely from 1957 or 58. it's striped in soft tones of blue, purple, grey, pink and green with a black paisley print throughout. The material is sturdy and has a bit of stretch for one's best fit The sides of the bust are boned and the bust is lined and interfaced ensuring the ideal pert pinup silhouette. The draped, skirted front sweeps asymmetrically from the left hip. A metal zipper runs up the back.

This suit is freshly laundered and ready to wear. The center seam of the crotch lining has two repaired seam pops. The elastic at the front of the legs is somewhat relaxed, but there's enough stretch around the back for a good fit. I find no other issues to note.
