This fantastic 1950s set is definitely outside my normal sandbox, but it's such a high fashion look for the later part of the decade that I couldn't resist. Certainly, this once had a skirt, and but it is now a blouse and jacket, and I'd recommend pairing with trousers. The blouse is made of the same fabric as the the lining of the jacket, a cotton-linen blend with unique, very mid-century print in yellow and olive. The jacket itself is a slubbed blend of linen, very textural and bright. The neckline is rounded. The only closure is the buckle at the neck, which matches the original belt. There are small working pockets. A fantastic, unique set.
Skirt shown may be purchased here:
Waist: 38" (intended to be belted)
Label: Betty Jean of Kansas City
Material: Linen Blends
Condition: Very Good minus
As noted, this would have originally had a skirt, which is not present. We do like it with the skirt it is shown with, but that is not original to the set and not included. This jacket is clean and ready to wear, with no flaws that I can find! The blouse has two tiny pin head spots.
