RESERVED on LAYAWAY Exquisite Late 1930s Two Tone Colorblock Day Dress with Soutache and Metallic Trim
This late 1930s dress is such a rarity, a fantastic 1939 style that will put every eye on you! It is made of a woven matte rayon with a slightly coarse texture. The structure is fantastic - sturdy shoulder pads paired with princess seaming give it a perfect silhouette. The center contrast of peachy-beige is edged with metallic gold trim in textured loops, then filled with black and gold metallic soutache. Two tone buttons and self-fabric loops close the dress to below the hips. A truly bold and memorable piece, something that will be a favorite for years.
My photos tend to wash the warmth from the colors, but it's also not as pink as the modeled shots. Those photos were taken in 2012, the first time I sold this piece - my customer has consigned it back now, seven years later.

This dress is sturdy, wearable and looks just fantastic. There is a bit of soil on the peach color by the neckline -and at the shoulders. There is a single spot above the ninth button from the bottom. There are two little snags in the rayon at the lower right back. I find no other issues to note, and nothing detracts from the overall magnificence of this piece.
