Vintage 1940s evening gown is a stunning piece. This white crepe rayon gown is fit for a goddess. It is an uncommonly heavy weave of rayon, almost certainly created for a winter wedding. Self-fabric piping is threaded through an eyelet on the hip, and then cinched to gather the skirt into an asymmetric drape. The back is all buttons, from the neck to the top of the hips. While I'm sure it originally had shoulder pads, it has none currently, but still fits beautifully on the bodice. The skirt is sleek, with a vent on the left side. This dress is an elegant find, perfect for a vintage bride or any glamorous evening event. This garment closes with its self-fabric buttons only.
Label: None Present
Material: Rayon Crepe
Condition: Good plus, as is
This dress has been cleaned and is fresh and ready to wear. I removed all the buttons to be able to soak it. If I look very closely, I can still see a slight color difference where someone let out the two darts at back. (If you put them back in, this will be about a 25"-26" waist fit.) There are three tiny holes that I darned with invisifil from that alteration. There is a scuffed area to the surface of the hip, just below the waistline near the gather. I find no other issues to note!
