Vintage 1940s hostess gown has long been one of my ultimate holy grails - but this rare beauty is not my size. Maybe it's yours. I can hardly believe the gleam of the satin stripes, they absolutely glow, like a rainbow in a candy-colored 1940s palette - magenta, turquoise, purple, chartreuse! This slimming spike of color is framed by elegantly draping black rayon. The sleeves are puffed, the already perfect waist is given an even more narrow appearance with the matching sash. The skirt is full with wide gores. In true Saybury style, it has a LONG metal Talon zipper to close up the front!
Shoulders: 14.5 (there's a bit of extra room in the puffed sleeves, though)
Material: Slipper Satin, Taffeta
Condition: Very Good minus
This piece is clean and ready to wear. There a couple light water marks by the hem, and one underarm seam has been resewn in the past. I find no other issues to note!
