Exceptional 1930s Rayon Dress of Dark Brown with Appliqued Midwaist

  • Product Description

There is nothing like the sophistication of the late 1930s. This exceptional 30s rayon dress is approximately 1937, and is warm, elegant and quintessentially autumn. Please use the color shown in our lookbook image as a guide - it is much a much warmer brown than shown in my studio shots. The neckline is high with a crisply pointed collar. The sleeves are long and fitted, closing with self-fabric buttons.  The bust is darted into the wide, pointed midwaist. Tri-colored applique of velveteen with embroidered edges makes a warm floral design in butter yellow, rust and soft green. The skirt is sleek, with the slim fit of the 30s, and has a dramatically long peplum. This beauty closes on the side with hooks and snaps, and buttons at the back of the neck. The attached self-fabric belt buckle at the back

There is a little darkness at the underarms, nothing significant. There's a small repair above the snap closure on the seam. One button is lost - the last button on the left cuff. I find no other issues to note!
