Exceptional 1910s Retailored c. 1930s Velvet Coat with Massive Fur Collar

  • Product Description

One of the most unique offerings in this jacket collection, I've decided, after rather a lot of research, that this is a 1900s or 1910s jacket that was restyled - to great effect - in the 1930s. The seamwork on the back is simply incredible! The fur collar, which I think was added, is backed with self-fabric. The collar pops up for drama. It's fully lined with high quality satin, and even has the extra lining at the underarms. There's also obviously a warm, padded interlining - this is MADE for cold weather glamour. It closes with ten self-fabric buttons.

      Shoulder: 14"
      Bust: 34"
      Waist: 29"
      Hips: 39"
      Length: 25"
      Sleeve: 25"

      Label: None Present
      Material: Wool Velvet, Rayon Lining
      Condition: Good plus as is

This piece has not been cleaned, due to the fur. Two of the buttons have lost all of their velvet nap, and there is a line of rubbing along the edge of the closure as well. There is a horizontal seam along the right at the front waist, but not on the left- I suspect this is part of the restyling. The fur seems a bit dry at the back of the neck, but has no signs of shedding. I find no other issues to note!
