A flowing and romantic gown to make an entrance in. This 1940s evening gown has some bodice modifications, but since it would take real work to reverse, one might as well enjoy it! . The classic 40s piece now offers a diving neckline that belies the sweetness of the sequin-decked lace. The lace on the both the neckline and sleeves is backed with a sturdy, sheer mesh of matching pink. The skirt is four bias cut gores, so it drapes elegantly. This garment closes with a metal side zipper.
Label: Edge of vintage label is present, but the rest is cut away.
Material: Rayon Crepe
Condition: Good, as is
This dress has been dry cleaned and is ready to wear. The is the shadow of a very fine, almost invisible water line about 3" above the waist, and two little spots just below it. There are also two faint spots in the mid back of the skirt, which get lost in the draping. I've repaired lace breaks on both arms, stitching the lace to the netting backing. Finally, as mentioned, the neckline was deepened. This could be let out, but it will require opening the shoulders to correct. It's quite wearing as it is, if daring.
