Elegant 1930s Tweed Dress with Sleek Fit and Wide Sleeves
Chic tweed dress is rare as can be, and quintessentially 1930s. Full sleeves with pintucks at the shoulders come in tightly at the wide cuffs. Painted wooden buttons line the shoulders and cuffs. Four long pleats at the hem finish the chick look. The tweed is medium weight and quite soft. Just imagine strutting through the park in this beauty on a crisp fall day. The dress pulls on over the head with buttons opening at the neck, but not the side.
It should be kept in mind that there are no side closures on this dress (it slips on with buttons that open on the shoulders) so the measurements should fit over the head of the wearer.
Shoulders: There is no shoulder seam, but I'd estimate around 15 "
Hips: 43 "
Label: None Present
Material: Wool Tweed
Condition: Good Minus
This dress has been dry cleaned and ready to wear. While this dress does have issues, we've had it carefully and professionally mended and the tweed causes the issues to blend well. There is one button missing on the left cuff. There are about six areas that have been darned, the worst of which is on the right hip. There is a patch on the right shoulder that blends quite well (as seen in the photos). There are also two patches at the very base of dress in the back. There are no other issues to note.
