This tiny, exquisite early 1900s blouse is a striking example of the s-curve style, a pigeon breast blouse of black silk brocade. The weave of the brocade is fantastic, alternating between diamonds like a dotted fish net, and bands of a trompe l'oeil effect - a tight design that looks like a mesh overlay. Ten stays create the nipped interior shape and snug gathers make the exaggerated breast of the bodice. The piece is edged in black silk satin ribbon that is quite lush. It closes with layers of hook and eyes.

This blouse is clean and ready to wear. I've replaced a new missing hook and eyes with modern. The silk trim is frayed on the right shoulder, and corner of the closure under the left arm is rubbed and has frayed. The hidden center closure has a stress tear at the top. I fine no other issues to notes - all these issues are quite small and this wears beautifully.
