This fun 1940s deadstock top is SUCH a rarity! Made of two hues of gabardine, it is fully reversible, with the butter yellow on one side, and the soft beige seen on the center loop on the other. It's uniquely constructed (see not below) and closes at the neck and center back with self-fabric ties. This fits best if the ties are looped though each other as shown in the last images.
This summer top was supposed to be in my 2019 collection, but I could not figure out how to make it work on the human body! When you get it, your first impulse will be to put it on upside down - don't! The band goes at the top, as shown in the photos.
✂-----Measurements
Marked a vintage size Medium, and seems to best for a 36" to 38" bust.
Strap is very adjustable.
Cups are approximately 8" high at the center and are 9" wide, but this unusual construction and the way the points of the side wrap around the body mean this isn't 100% available to fill.
Label: Deadstock tags attached, sold at Leavitt Brothers for $2.95
Material: Gabardine
Condition Very Good
This top is crisp, clean and practically perfect, aside from some tiny pinholes from another tag in the past. I find no other issues to note.
