This vintage 1939/1940 borderline dress has a classic silhouette and a mix of jet black and floral that I cannot resist. The dress is not printed, rather, it is embroidered throughout in shades of red and pink, pale green, baby blue, yellow and white. The posies dance throughout the print, a bright and whimsical contrast to the black. The sleeves are perfectly puffed and have sleeve headers, the neckline is a v, and the bust is gathered into the midwaist. The skirt is bias cut and perfectly swishy. It closes on the side with a sturdy metal zipper.
Shoulders: 14.75 (sleeve headers at 17" end to end)
Label: Park Avenue Dresses, Lipman Wolfe
Material: Rayon crepe

This set is has been dry cleaned and is ready to wear. The original owner must have decided the v neckline was to low, so she closed it up an inch and half, and added grosgrain around the neck and on each sleeve cuff. To be honest, it this were mine, I'd remove that and open the neckline back up. There's a little pressing sheen around the neckline and at the cuffs, where it was pressed on top of the trim. Aside from these small flaws, I find no other issues to note!
