This ideal vintage dress sits right on the line of 1939 and 1940, a year of fashion that is, in my opinion, near perfect. The rich brown crepe is saturated and more rich than the photos show - I could not capture the true color. The dress is given flattering definition with the curving velvet embellishment that ends in smart bows above the bust. The shoulders are not padded, but the sleeves have headers for a perfectly peaked shape. The sleeves are also darted to fit the curve of the elbow, ending just past the bend of the arm - a bit shorter than 3/4 length. The dress closes up the back with a sturdy metal zipper.
Waist: 27.5" (meant to be tied a bit smaller to fit)
Label: None Present, homemade
Material: Rayon Crepe
Condition: Good plus
This dress is clean and ready to be worn. There is some mild fade at the underarms. The dress photographs as being somewhat faded, but it doesn't really read that way in person, although there is some mild fade and very subtle spotting toward the hem of the dress. It wears beautifully, and I find no other issues to note.
