Vintage 1950s novelty sweater is such a special piece. Clearly custom made for someone, or sold with matching piping to create an internal monogram, there can't be many like this! This cuties is almost certainly cashmere, although the content is labeled - I've compared with both in my own collection. This charming top is edged with cartridge pleated trim of red ribbon with a paisley print - this ribbon edges the collar, cuffs and placket, makes up the cloth covered buttons, the monogram on the interior lining... AND the skirt of the ballerinas. These darlings are hand painted, surrounded by a trim of flowers, and embellished with faux pears and rhinestones. It is lined in rayon crepe. It closes up the front with buttons.
