Cute Late 1930s Cotton Swim and Sun Playsuit Romper with Novelty People Print

  • Product Description

This vintage 1940s romper style playsuit is sporty and versatile. The exterior is printed feedsack cotton that easily serves as a classic fun-in-the-sun playsuit, while the closer fitting cotton knit lining means it's meant for the water, too! (Remember, vintage suits shouldn't go in chlorinated pools, only natural water.)  This playsuit is one piece with a ground of cornflower blue, printed with a novelty print in deep wine and white. Ladies in polkadot dresses play the mandolin among flowers. The neckline is a simple v and the shorts are flare. Self-fabric ties make a small knot at back.

      Bust: 38.5"
      Waist: 30"
      Hips: 43"
      Lining, at hips: 35"-46"
      Length: 29"
      Inseam: 3"

      Label: None Present
      Material: Cotton
      Condition: Good, as is

This piece is clean and ready to wear. It has been worn and washed and the fabric is not as fresh as it would have started but is not worn out, but is still saturated. There are some rust spots on the shoulders from an old hanger, and occasional foxing freckles in the print. The lining is discolored, but you'll never see it when worn.  I replaced two buttons at the back, and hand stitched the unfinished ends of the ties. I find no other issues to note!
