Vintage 1950s jacket is a timeless piece, as professional and flattering now as it was sixty years ago. Made by high quality label Athena out of Beverly Hills, it was sold at Battelstein's in Houston. The fine suiting woven of hazelnut brown and white, with accents of a nutmeg and white. I found only a handful of examples of this designer's work, but every last one is exceptionally tailored. This is no mistake, with the loops of contrast edged in piping that ties in small bows. It closes with self-fabric buttons. It's lined in rayon crepe, and has crisp interfacing to shape the hips. A fantastic New Look era piece.

Jacket is clean and ready to enjoy. I have added a couple stitches to address a tiny moth chew. There's a little one at the back shoulder. Before dry cleaning, this had dark speckles of soil from storage throughout. There remain some tiny, faint marks throughout but you have to be looking to find them. There is a little staining to the lining of the underarms. I find nothing else to note!
