Classic 1940s Blouse with Soutache Chest Pockets in Warm Beige
Vintage 1940s blouse is a beauty, made in a warm neutral, but hardly neutral in style. The color is a warm beige, a color that would be a nude for some. This blouse was likely part of a set, pulling over the head with a side metal bell zipper to close. The collar is small. The chest pockets are woven soutache of self-fabric. Three horizontal darts on the waist work with shirring along the sides to create drape through the midsection. This beauty will be smart with trousers or skirts.
Label: None Present
Material: Rayon Crepe
Condition: Good minus, as is but sturdy and wearable.
This blouse is clean and ready to wear. It has been freshly hand laundered and steamed out. There is some internal stitching on the collar that has come loose. The most notable flaw is that the collar is inconsistent, this picks up in the images. At some point when it was cleaned in the past, dye traveled from the pockets to mark the area below them slightly purplish. There are a couple areas of the same effect below the waist. The underarms are lightened, and there is pressing sheen at the top of the shoulders. It's still strong and entirely wearable, just imperfect. A good piece that is still pretty, but you'll need to worry about less than other items.
