Vintage Late 1930s cocktail dress is superbly rich in a very deep periwinkle hue - definitely the darkest you can take this purple-blue shade. This dress is one to inspire the romantic in you - a perfectly sleek silhouette, and truly elegant embellishment. The soutache is more blue that the dusky purple of the dress, and extends below the line of the waist. Wide attached sashes at either side of the waist make a dramatic bow at the back. Narrow gores lend the skir beautiful movement. The long sleeves have snaps on the fitted cuffs. This beauty closes up the back with a metal bell zipper.
*Please note, this dress is much more purple than the photos show, and I was unable to correct the color with photoshop. This can look like dark cornflower in dimmer lighting, but is much more purplish in most lights.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. There is subtle variance to the color, mostly in the shoulder and bodice, but a bit to the skirt as well. It doesn't stand out, and is not surprising, as purple is notoriously unstable. There are two small lightened spots, and one small darn in the front of the skirt. There is a little wear to the rayon at the underarms, but it is in no way unstable. This dress wears beautifully, and has been priced with minor flaws in mind. It's a particularly beautiful, moody piece that reads well.
