Vintage late 30s or very early 40s dress is made of a drapey, lightweight rayon faille. This piece has an unusual detail, and it's really a pity that the shoulders of my mannequin were too narrow to show it well- the sleeves are puffed and peaked, but are underneath scalloped capelet-epaulet details. On shoudlers this fits, this creates a phenomenal shoulder line! The bodice is a shirtwaist style, closing with faceted glass globe buttons, and meeting the inset waist. Self-fabric ties at each side make a bow at the back. The skirt is gathered, and made up of four wide gores cut on the bias for a perfect drape. The dress closes with a sturdy metal side zipper and the bodice buttons. A perfect summertime frock that can be dressed up dozens of different ways.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. It is fresh, crisp and white. There is the *faintest* touch of yellow at each underarm. You won't notice unless you're really looking for it. I find no other issues to note, it wears beautifully.
