Vintage 1940s dress is a summertime stunner in marvelous, bold rich colors. This dress has notable color bleed, so please read the condition notes. This homemade day dress is perfect for summer, for dancing, for hot days when you don't want to worry damaging a dress in fine condition. Roses, daisies, violets in purple and white/pink, chartruese, teal leaves- it's a rich explosion of wildflowers on a black ground. The shoulders are shirred. The skirt has been pleated by hand. With the a bias cut bodice, I think this is remade from a longer 1930s gown. This dress closes on the side with a metal zipper.
Label: None Present
Material: Bias Cut silk
Condition: Good minus, wearable as is
This dress has been dry cleaned and is ready to wear. As stated above, there is dye blleed throughout, affecting most of the white petals in the print to varying degrees. It's not offensive, the dress is pretty, but it has been fittingly given a lower price point for that. Aside from that, the piece has definitely be restyled in the past, I would say a quick homemade restyling of a longer 1930s gown (the bias cut components are really what says this to me. It's not perfectly done, but it is very sturdy. I find no other issues to note!
