Charming 1940s Sheer Rayon Day Dress with Bow Print and Key Hole Neckline
Vintage 1940s dress in delicious, lightweight bemburg rayon. This dress is delightful for spring and summer, breezy and semi-sheer. I thought the dress was black, but under my listing lights I believe it is a very dark navy blue. The sleeves are shor and the neckline high. Two crescent keyholes embellish the neckline. The bodice is lightly gathered into the waist, which is accented with a peplum made of three overlapped triangles. The skirt is cut on the bias, and softly draped. The dress closes with a metal zipper on the side and other at the back of the neck.
Label: None Present
Material: Sheer Rayon
Condition: Good, sturdy and wearable as is
This dress is clean and ready to wear. The neckline keyholes were hand stitched partly closed, and there's some pulling to the edges where I took those stitches out. There is patch of mild fade on the front right hip, and a bit at the back right of the skirt as well. The shoulders and sleeves have mild fade. The dress is likely homemade, and the bias cut skirt is longer at the front left. I find no other issues to note, the dress wears beautifully.
