Charming 1940s Rayon Skirt Set in Black with Gold Swiss Dots

  • Product Description

Vintage 1940s two piece set made of the drapiest rayon faille I've ever encountered. This smart early 40s ensemble features a jacket with three-quarter sleeves and an a-line skirt. The jacket offers padded shoulders and four bow embellishments - one at either side of the neckline, and two concealing shirring gathers at each side of the waist. The skirt is that perfectly flattering eight-gore style. The metallic gold dots are set off by large gold buttons (probably replacements) - and there's to spares sewn inside just in case.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. I interfaced five tiny 1/4 cuts in the fabric of the jacket - these are essentially invisible - one on the right sleeve, three close to the right underarm, and one on the left chest. You won't see these at all when worn. The zipper and button on the skirt have most definitely been replaced.
