Charming 1940s Home-Millinery Teal Fedora-Inspired Tilt Hat with PomPoms

  • Product Description

How absolutely darling is this? Almost certainly made at home from a fairly basic fedora base, it's not a perfect piece, but SO charming. The color is outrageous good, a rich teal blue, and it's banded with brown grosgrain that continues to become ties that secure the hat under the hair. The vintage wool poms are delightfully two tone, in deep burgundy and indigo blue. The crown has a mild fedora inspired bash, and the brim can be pulled over one eye.

This hat has had it's blocking refreshing with a good steam. I suspect this was restyled to this look during the way era, probably to use the back of the hat for a separate piece. There's three little spots on the felt, and two or three moth nips. The grosgrain is a bit worn from being tied a lot. It still wears beautifully. I find no other issues to note.
