Vintage late 1930s dress is an absolute darling in a warm cafe au lait hue, somewhere between peach and tan. The bodice and sleeves are decadently embellished with a tambour lace of cotton embroidery on silk net. This has some damage, please read the condition notes. The lace cuts deep into the yoke, and makes up the small peter pan collar, which is accented with self-fabric bow. Decorative buttons dot the center of the bodice. This cute dress has a small side closure with snaps.
The dress is almost certainly meant t be belted or sashed, but none is present. Best for a 25-27" waist.
Label: None Present, homemade
Material: Bemburg Rayon
Condition: Good minus, as is with flaws
This dress has been dry cleaned and fresh pressed and is ready to wear. The most notable flaw is the left-hand sleeve, which has three breaks to the tambour lace with some fraying, and a frayed section of the lining underneath. I have made some repairs since the photos were taken, but it will never be perfect again. There is another break on the top of the left shoulder that I have also stitched down. There is a 3/8 x 1/4" frayed square on the underside of the right sleeve that I've interfaced. The skirt was fairly soiled before cleaning and still has four faint marks. I interfaced a small frayed hole at the back left hem. This dress wears BEAUTIFULLY. The flaws have been taken into account in the price.
