This fantastic late 1940s to very early 50s evening gown is elegant and dramatic, a lightweight creation that is full of texture and allure. The tulle is soft, for this textile, and given body with a horsehair edge along the hem. The bodice is fitted, the bust a gentle sweetheart shape framed by wide set sleeves. Layers of pleats edge both the bust and sleeves. Ivory embroidery travels throughout. the outmost layer and there are two deep insets on either side of the skirt of solid black. Another layer of black tulle lends the skirt body, and then there is a final layer of black acetate satin. The bodice is lined as well, and there are stays on the side seams. This closes up the back with a sturdy metal zipper.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. As you may note, there is one small missing flower in the embroidery - I don't know if this was missing or very carefully picked out after being snagged or something, as there's no damage or signs of loose embroidery elsewhere. The tulle lining layer is fraying along the unfinished edge. The stays in the bodice are a bit softened, but not out of shape. I find no other issues to note!
