Bold Late 30s Chartreuse 2 Piece Ensemble with Wrap Style Blouse and Pleated Skirt
This. THIS piece is what I love about 1939/40 fashion. It's not just the screamingly loud chartreuse, but the versatility of the design - we've shown it, for example, paired with a full sleeved blouse that will also be for sale shortly. The chartreuse hue glows, made of a rayon with a really unusual finish - it is sleek, almost slippery but the weave looks like a fine crepe. The skirt features pintuck style pleats at the center front that open low. It closes on the side with self-fabric buttons with little loop closures. The top is sleeveless and beautifully draped, with little self-fabric piping bows danging along the shoulder yoke, covering the row of shirring that creates the soft lines. It closes with three snaps at the interior waistband.
The black blouse is not included, but will be for sale soon.

Condition: Top: Very Good minus, Skirt, Good, as is
This set is has been dry cleaned and pressed, and is ready to wear. The top has two little - either tiny moth chews, or tiny snags that lightly frayed, and two under the right arm. There is a tiny edge of discoloration at the edge of the back neckline. The skirt has two handstitched repairs to little holes - not done by me - one at the far back right, and one far back left and two other teeeeny little pinholes. The set presents gloriously and will make fantastic separates in your closet!
