I love the hazelnut color of this classic 1950s suit. It's a woven wool with very, very subtle stripes. The jacket is distinctive, with dual faux pockets send on a angle. The jacket is cut long, and is tailored to the waist. It is lined with cocoa colored rayon crepe, and closes with cloth covered buttons. The skirt is four gored and darted, with a subtle flare. It closes on the side with a sturdy metal zipper.
Label: Swansdown by Cygnet, Rusan's Just Smart Things, Spokane
Material: Wool, Rayon Crepe
Condition: Good minus, very wearable as is
This suit has been cleaned and is ready to wear. The buttons are clearly not the original buttons for the suit. If I had to guess, I'd say they were taken off a silk evening dress at some time in the past. The reason why the buttons were replaced is clear - the originals faded the fabric behind then, and three points on the front of the jacket as well, where they must have been in contact with a wool a long time. A couple of the silk replacement buttons have some smudges. There is a single small moth chew at the left side of the skirt. It's very wearable, but will never be perfect and has been priced accordingly.
