The lace is sturdy and ready to wear. The silk lining is just starting to break at the edge of the neckline and shoulders, not so much to be a problem, and caused from many years on a hanger. The lace has lightly aged with time to an ivory hue. I did not hand wash it due to the delicate lining, which is missing from most Irish lace garments. I found one single broken thread at the shoulder, and one pin dot spot at the back left shoulder. At the left side near the hem is one bar that is slightly more darkened, probably from being a little more exposed in storage. This does not stand out.. I find no other flaws to note. Surprisingly sturdy and wearable.
