Adorable Late 1930s Dress in Navy Blue Cold Rayon with Floral Print and Periwinkle Bows
Vintage late 1930s dress is such a darling in a floral textile that is likely a blend of celanese and rayon - it has the sleek, cool touch of a cold rayon weave. The navy ground is a perfect backdrop for the coral, white, yellow, royal blue and green flowers that fall throughout the print. the collar is high, with crisp points, and a periwinkle bow to finish. The sleeves are puffed with generous gathers. The tiny chest pocket on the left has a second perwinkle bow, and a long asymmetric trim of that perwinkle crepe runs pocket to hem. This slips over the head, and has just a hook at the back of the neck. A self-fabric belt with large covered buckle is attached to cinch the waist.
Waist: 34" *intended to be cinched with belt
Belt is currently set at about 31, and can cinch as small as 25" well.
Label: None Present
Condition: Good plus, as is
This dress is has been cleaned and repaired and is ready to wear! There is a 1/4" hole about one inch away from the right side seam that I have patched with material from the interior of the neck closure. The edges of the neck have a bit of lightening where I spot treated some soil, but this doesn't show when worn. I find no other issues to note!
