Vintage 1940s playsuit is cheerful and bright printed paisley cotton. This print features sky blue, lime green, candy apple red, creamsicle orange and midnight blue. The classic cut features sweet and sporty shorts, and an open back with straps that can be worn straight or crossed. Two red buttons with rhinestones secure the straps at each side of the sweetheart neckline. This little number is just begging to be paired with Bakelite! This garment closes with hooks at the back.
*This is the second time I've had this darling piece, as the original purchaser cosigned it back to me after six years. The modeled images are from the first time it was sold. They are closer to the true colors, my images came out fairly blue.
Bust: 35"-snug 36"
Waist to hem: 17.5"
Label: None Present
Condition: Fair Plus/Good minus but very wearable as is
This garment started its life made of bits and scraps of fabric, and when you pay attention you'll note the ways the original maker compensated for having not really enough fabric. I think it have been constructed from something else that had already been worn, as there are off self-fabric patches in the back. There is general fade throughout the garment. There has been more recent repair to the back, including iron interfacing to splits in the cotton. The buttons are replacements. It is entirely wearable, but definitely for someone very forgiving of a garment's unique history and wear. This garment is being sold as is, and has been priced accordingly.
