This vintage early 1940s set is a delightful rarity. Both pieces are striped cotton seersucker, in the nautical color theme of white, blue, navy, red and grey. This had only a handful of its original navy buttons left, and though they were cute, I thought these 30s star buttons made a perfect replacement. The shorts are high waisted with long double darts. The buttons close up the side. The matching skirt has a single pocket at the front right, and closes up the center. as the hips are smaller than those of the shorts, I rather suspect this was expected to be worn open more often than not.
Label: None Present
Material: Cotton seersucker
Condition: Good minus, very sturdy, as is
The set has been gently hand cleaned and is ready to wear. Despite treatment, there's still two small rust spots below the waistline of the skirt, and that notable spot a bit smaller than a dime, at the lower right front hem to the side of the buttons. Both of these had been significantly taken in, and there's some evidence of where I took the stitches out. There's a tiny interfaced cut at the back right of the shorts, and a patched hole at the lower front right. I find no other issues to note. These are priced a significant discount than I had intended if the spots had come away.
