1940s Jersey Top of Chartreuse Rayon-Celanese with Neckties
This vintage 1940s casual top is a yellow chartreuse. The material is a celanese rayon blend jersey - super sleek with light stretch. It bears one of the earliest Koret tags I've seen. The stand out feature is the rows of zig-zag stitched piping that ring the collar and become ties at the neck. It pulls over the head and has no closures.
Label: Koret Knits California Originals (with Golden Gate tag, a fairly early label for the company.)
Material: Celanese Rayon Jersey
Condition: Good minus, as is
This top is has been cleaned, is quite sturdy and ready to wear. When I found it, it was utterly filthy from poor storage, and I have removed MOST of soil and staining, however, enough remains that I have priced it down significantly. There's a oil spot a couple inches from the left underarm, some tanned water spots along the left side of the back, and some fainter ones at the right front shoulder. There are a few little snags in the weave as well. Because of the saturated color, these don't stand out terribly, but they are present and have been evaluated in the price.
