This vintage 1940s jacket is bold as can be, a piece I would have bought for myself if only it were my size. This piece is strong, a post war cut that is hard to resist. The shoulders are extreme, with heavily structured pads that extend past the shoulder line. The waist is heavily darted for a fitted shape - four at each side of the front and eight more at back - and it cinches closed with a wide belt. The faceted brass studs stand out on the rich red. Pockets finish each hip. A single snap, simple button and belt are the only closures. It is lined with a glossy satin. The belt is super sturdy, lined with soft leather.
Waist: 28"-30" (can cinch to 26" well, looks a bit too large on a XS though)
Label: Swanella Deluxe, 100% Woold
Material: Wool, Acetate lining
Condition: Very Good
This stunning coat is ready to wear. There is one tiny moth hole at the very bottom of the hem at the back vent, and two very subtle spots of surface nibbles below the darts at the front left. You'll find to look to find them. I find no other issues to note!
