Gorgeous Late 1930s Hooded White Coat with Double Breasted Closure
This vintage late 1930s coat is all glamour - a spring or formal weight coat that is about style more than warmth. Made of ivory rayon blend faille and lined with acetate satin, this will wear beautifully over a glamorous gown. The full length sleeves have pleats for a perfect puffed silhouette. The small hood is very Little Edie, resting at the back but large enough to be worn up. The bodice is fitted, closes with double breasted clear plastic buttons with a pressed pattern. The skirt falls shorter at front than at the back, and has lines inspired by Edwardian styles. It is flattering and chic, certain to be a favorite.
Length: 49" at front, 56" at back
Label: None Present
Material: Rayon Faille, Acetate Lining
Condition: Good plus
This coat has been both dry cleaned and then carefully hand laundered and is ready to wear. The lining is fresh and white. There are some light spots, primarily to the center back, that did not lift completely with dry cleaning, and three slightly darker little spots a the low back - these get hidden in the volume. At the back left, there is a grouping of light spots about the same height. There are some other scattered small, light spots, but they do not detract from the overall look. I find no other issues to note!
