I do not use the word "flapper" lightly when it comes to 1920s attire. Just because it's a 1920s cocktail dress does not mean it's necessarily a "flapper dress." That being said, this is a Flapper Dress in capital letters. The shorter hemline, the flirty ruffles, the layered lace... it is truly meant for a Bright Young Thing. This piece is made of a carnelian red silk lace lined with red silk crepe de chine and sheer chiffon. The sleek bodice features a red sweetheart lining with nude above it. A lace ruffles crosses from the left shoulder to the right hip. The drop waist is accented with a deco brooch of rhinestones and celluloid. The skirt is tiers of perma-pleated lace, asymmetrically layered with a long point at the right side. It matches the asymmetric drape at the left shoulder. This fabulous dress has no closures, and simply slips on over the head.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. The interior lining has some light foxing type spots throughout, not seen when worn. The right sleeve has some breaks at the upper arm, and it is a bit delicate there - I made sure to get a closeup (photo #10.) If it were me, I might eventually remove them and wear it sleeveless, if they get too fragile. I was able to put the arms in them safely, though, and they should last a while. I find no other issues to note!
