Delightful vintage homemade 1940s dress is a charmer. Definitely a homemade piece, what I find most interesting about it is that the seamstress very intentionally used the reverse of the rayon faille, so the exterior is soft grey and muted pink, where the interior is red and steel grey. It's not fade - the pink color is the same at the hem and internal seams. The shoulders are shaped with puffed sleeve headers. The neckline is high, and a squared line of the bodice is trimmed with self-fabric scallop. The dress has a free shape to the waist that is cinched with self-fabric ties, so will work for a variety of proportions and possibly maternity. The skirt is full and gathered. Closes with a metal zipper at the back.
Please forgive the small number of modeled shots. Somehow I managed to corrupt half the files from this shoot, and didn't know until I was listing.
Waist: 35" *possibly made as maternity, ties in as small as 28" well.
