This vintage 1950s cupcake dress set is fairytale fashion, a dreamy romance of tulle. This beauty features rose printed tulle, a rare find. But the printed tulle is only one layer in this exceptional piece - the skirt is four layers of fabric, starting with the subtle taupe lining, then crisp white tulle, then a softer mocha layer, and then the printed tulle. The bodice uses just the printed tulle over white tulle and acetate, ruched in a way that deepens the impact of the printed red and green. The skirt is incredibly full, with plenty of room for your largest crinoline or hoop. The finishing touch is the teal green shoulder sash, which attaches at the right bust with snaps, and can be worn a variety of ways or removed entirely. The dress closes with a sturdy metal zipper and hook and eye.

This dress is clean and ready to wear. The only flawed area that I find to note is a repair that I made to the tulle at the back right hip, just below the waistbands. There was a tear of about 5.5" there, which has been secured with a mix of invisible filament thread and a fusible bonding where the tulle was frayed. There are two tiny holes in the tulle nearby. This doesn't stand out thanks to the depth and texture of the layered tulle but has been taken into account when pricing.
