I've seen some gorgeous web-like and spiderweb prints before, but this 1950s printed silk has a really unique look - almost an early optical art print, hypnotic swirling vortexes that will have you caught in your own web. The style has wide straps, trimmed with a navy piping that runs along the neckline. The bodice has sparkling, scattered white rhinestones like dew caught in a spider's web. The skirt is cut on the bias, and at one time, was perma pleated. The hem has been redone in the recent past, and upon close inspection isn't perfectly straight

This dress has been dry cleaned and restored and is read to wear. The straps were much wider, but due to some breakage, had to be slimmed down to their current proportions, which I had a vintage professional do. It is still a very authentic look and fit, as shown. The left underarm/side of the chest has a little tanning and minor color traveling, and two clean breaks, so I have interfaced with lightweight fusible to ensure it is sturdy enough for regular wear. There is a tiny bit of tanning at the other underarm, and the back of the bodice, compared to the skirt is the slightest bit more ivory than white. As noted, the skirt used to be perma-pleated, but this wouldn't be noticed exception on close inspection. The print is crisp and fresh.
